Small Steps

After a days flat hunting which started with total despair as the first 2 places we saw were complete hovels but ended on a much happier note with some really nice appartments we decided to head out for dinner. We found a very authentic chinese place near the hotel and looking through the window it seemed great. We headed in and sat down. Menu arrived with no english and no pictures... we battled with our phrasebook but still had no idea what was going on! In the end we gave in and had to leave, we'll definitely go back but we have to take this China thing step by step and Mandarin classes seem like a pretty good start. We ended up in a great place called South Beauty which specialises in Sechuan cuisine, I took the following food p0rn shots especially for Tommy!

I went for the super spicy "Palace Chicken" which came with a nice flower, which I didn't eat.

Cecile went with Prawns pineapple and water melon and I got to use my first phrase from our trusty Lonely Planet Mandarin book - boo ya0 fung la jyao - can I have that without chilli please?
