We celebrated with a few friends at Fu1039. Daryl made a special effort on the suit front, and no I don't think he looks anything like Papa Smurf Nancy!!! The boys The girls Everyone! Andrew "ladies man" Ledger (on the left!) Yummy Shanghai food Mr & Mrs Spirit
Our paperwork finally came through and with my sister in town we thought it was as good a time as any to get our official Chinese wedding done - our proper wedding will be in September. So off we headed to the Shanghai Wedding Bureau for Foreigners (which is also where you go to get divorced!!) First the photos for the little wedding passport they give you. He decided Cecile was too short but solved that with a pile of magazines! Bit of rearranging... Cheese! Then more paperwork... Then the little ceremony, you can check out the video here:
You may now kiss the bride... You may now pose Chinese style... Group pic! Nice plastic flowers. Yay! Thanks to Claire, Claire and Haruna for coming along, no points for Kim who slept in! So we finally made it, happily married for the bargain price of 9rmb (60p)!
I went to India for a couple of days work in Mumbai. The place is finally starting to grow on me, didnt have much time for pics but here's a couple I took walking from Nariman Point one evening. They love big weddings in India, one was just kicking off as I walked past, this was the entrance to a wedding set the size of a football pitch!
Tom had a pretty busy first month home (actually he mainly ate and slept but it felt busy):
Disguising himself as one of Santa's Reindeer! Sleeeeping Yaaaawwwnnning! Sleeeeeping again! Checking out his monogrammed Towel set (Thanks Nick and Mich!) Getting ready to brave the snow! Hanging out with friends! Not Happy! Want Food! Relaxing!
Claire (who is also pregnant) had her birthday dinner at good old 1221 so we left Tom at home with the phone and some takeaway menus and headed out. Kimmy Style Chins UP! Laydeez Birthday Girl
Tom has had a steady stream of visitors since arriving home, some were camera shy but we snapped a few below: Uncle Miles (who reminds me of Rhold Dahl's BFG in this pic, Sorry Miles!) Uncle Ken who came all the way from London! Aunty Haruna! Uncle Daryl looking very paternal, watch out girls!
