Goodbye Fudan... Hello Ambassy Court!

When Tomas and Léo were born they were quickly transferred to the intensive care unit at Fudan Children's hospital.

This is Leo, rest in peace baby.

This is Tomas shortly after he was born, he only weighed 870g (or 1.7lb).

His nappy was bigger than he was!

These are some of the doctors that looked after them.

And some of the many many nurses who loved them like their own

This is Tomas getting ready to leave, he has lived in the incubator behind for 12 weeks.

The nurses were really sad to see him leave but really happy he was coming home with us, their miracle baby!

So finally on December 27th we said goodbye to Fudan hospital and all the amazing people there who cared for Tomas and Léo and we took Tom home!

First meal at home!

First webcam call where he met his Great Grandfather, his Aunty Claire and said Hi to his Grandparents again.

Welcome home Tomas!

Crash Test Dummy

In preparation for leaving the hospital Tomas had to pass the car seat test which entails sitting in a car seat for an hour without any problems.

He slept in it for an hour and passed!

Easiest test ever!

Christmas Day

Christmas in Shanghai with a big bunch of friends!
Kim, not helping in the kitchen!
Kim with his Christmas gloves!
The girls!
Chinese style.

1...2...3...SMILE!
Josh and Jean-Michel in their Christmas jumpers!
The (mainly) outsourced Christmas lunch was delicious!
More Christmas jumper action, even Kim has one!

Time for the presents.
"it smells of empty!"
A new Shanghai Christmas tradition - RIBS!!!
What a great day, thanks to Jean-Michel and Des for coming all the way from Hong Kong, was great to see you all - Happy Christmas!!!

Oh Christmas Tree...

Despite being in Shanghai we managed to find a Christmas tree and lots of tacky decorations without too much trouble!

Feeding Time

After 11 very long weeks Tom was finally moved down a grade in the intensive care unit which meant that at last we could actually hold him! It also meant all his tubes were finally removed, he could drink from his bottle and he could come out of his incubator - Great News!

mmmmmm milk!

He's obviously going to be a genius given that he has already perfected the art of eating and sleeping at the same time, somthing I've been trying to do for 30 years with no success!
Mum do I really have to wear this silly hat?

End of another hard day!
